General

What is Wirevet Lite?

It's the affordable, self-service edition of Wirevet, the cloud veterinary software built by Wirelan SPA in Chile since 2008. It includes 13 modules and bounded limits on users and records, sized for a small practice or a solo veterinarian.

How is it different from Wirevet?

It's the same system, with 13 of the 24 modules switched on and caps on how many users, veterinarians, pet owners, products, services, test types and suppliers you can hold. In exchange it costs less and you buy it online, with no implementation project.

Who's behind it?

Wirelan SPA, a Chilean company based in San Fernando, building veterinary software since 2008. Wirevet is used by clinics, veterinary hospitals and university institutions across Latin America.

Does it work outside Chile?

Yes. The system works in any country and the interface is available in Spanish and English. The Chile-specific capabilities — such as electronic invoicing with the tax authority — belong to the full version, not to Lite.

Buying and trialling

How do I create my account?

From the sign-up page on this site. You fill in your practice details and we send your login credentials by email.

Does the 7-day trial need a credit card?

No. No payment method is requested to try it.

When do the trial days start counting?

From your practice's first successful login, not from when the account is created. That way you don't lose days while you get organised.

Is there a minimum term?

No. You can cancel the service whenever you want.

Is there a setup fee?

No. The Lite edition has no setup or onboarding fee.

Using the system

Do I need to install anything on my computer?

No. Wirevet Lite runs in the browser. You sign in with your username and password from any computer, tablet or phone with an internet connection.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. The interface adapts to the phone screen, so you can check the schedule or a record from wherever you are.

What if my internet goes down?

Wirevet Lite needs a connection, like any cloud system. The upside is that your data doesn't live on the clinic computer: if a machine dies, you sign in from another one and everything is there.

How do I learn to use it?

Inside the system you have the full manual, video tutorials and a getting-started guide. They're available around the clock to every user on your account.

Plan limits

How many users can I create?

Three system users and one veterinarian with a schedule. These are commercial limits the system enforces when the record is created.

What exactly is a "pet owner"?

The pet's owner — your client. The plan includes 50 registered owners, and each of them can have as many pets as they need, with a full clinical history each.

Do medical records have a cap?

No. Records, prescriptions, estimates, lab test orders, appointments, counter sales and reminders have no limit. The caps are on catalogue items (products, services, test types, suppliers) and on people (users, veterinarians, owners).

What happens when I reach a limit?

The system doesn't create the record and shows you a message with your plan's cap and how to raise it. Everything else keeps working normally.

What are the 900 MB of storage for?

For the files you upload: PDF lab results, photos and documents attached to records. If it fills up you can't upload new files, but you can carry on booking, treating and taking payment without a problem.

Data and security

Where is my data hosted?

On Wirevet's infrastructure in Chile, with encryption, role-based access control and backups — the same infrastructure that runs the full version of the system.

What about data protection compliance?

Wirevet Lite gives you the technical baseline: individual logins, role-based permissions and access logs. Your practice remains the data controller; Wirelan acts as the processor. In Chile specifically, the new Personal Data Protection Act (Law 21.719) takes effect on 1 December 2026.

Can I export my data if I leave?

Yes. Email soporte@wirelan.cl and we'll arrange the handover of your data.

Growing

How do I move to the full version of Wirevet?

You get in touch and we enable it on your existing account. The plan caps are lifted and the extra modules are switched on; your data is kept.

Do I lose anything by switching?

No. Lite and the full version are the same system, so there's no migration and no loss of history.
